Still Around!

I'm still alive!  I have had so many things going on that I haven't had much computer time lately.  Plus, my laptop took a dump, so I am having to rely on the office computer, which is fine but my laptop was so nice and portable.  I am waiting for some software to repair it and then it will go into the laptop doctor. 

There are some major things brewing in my life right now, but I am going to wait a bit before saying anything.  I am fine and everyone is fine... just some unexpected events are happening and we are all trying to deal with it.

I stole this from my friend Jennifer's blog who I think stole it from someone else.  It looked kind of fun so I thought I would give it a whirl.  Maybe Jennifer will delurk and see it.  LOL

1. When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought? I thought that I needed to have my hair highlighted sooner than I originally thought.

2. How much cash do you have on you? I think about $47 or so

3. What’s a word that rhymes with DOOR?  More

4. Do you label yourself? Sometimes, but I am trying not to do that as much.  I am trying to have a more positive outlook about myself.  I slip up and my self esteem will slide, but I am trying.

5. Bright or Dark Room? Dark room.  For some reason, I find comfort in the dark.

7. Why is there always a missing question? Because someone just does a typo or forgets what number they are on.  I do that frequently when I make lists.

8.  What does your watch look like? Can you believe that I don't have one?  I am hoping to get one for Valentine's Day or Mother's Day.  I forgot to as Santa for one.

9. What were you doing at midnight last night? I was on Ebay buying jewelry from this new seller that I LOVE.

10. Where is your nearest 7-11? About 2 hours away.  When we lived in the city, it was right across from our apartment.  I miss 7-11...especially Slurpees.

11. What’s a word that you say a lot? It's more like a phrase.  I say, "Love you J" (my son).What? and Huh?

12. Who told you he/she loved you last? My precious little boy, who isn't so little anymore.  Before that hubby told me.

3. Last furry thing you touched?  I am touching it now because it is laying on my back!  Our kitten Ollie.

14. How many rolls of film do you need developed? None. I do all my pictures on a digital camera and then upload them to Costco's website.

It's been so long ago, I can't remember. I do sign our Christmas newsletters every year...but they are printed out from the pooter :)

Make Up Board

My friend, Sherry has pointed me in the direction of a new make-up board.  It is really cool because you can put your makeup on for the day and take your picture and post it on this thread called, FOD (Face of the Day).  As I said before, I bought a lot of make-up at the Dollar Store and have played around with it.  I also bought a lot of jewelry off of Ebay.  I found this little store that is awesome.  The prices are unbeatable.  I am turning into this mini shopaholic. 

On another note, I call a call from my choir director and choir starts up again not this coming Thursday, but the next.  I can't wait.  This break we had over the holidays was so long and I have missed singing.   I wish it was this Thursday!!

Tomorrow is my big training day for the new gym I signed up for.  Hopefully, I won't pass out or faint or anything.  LOL  I am pretty out of shape so this is a good step.  Then, after the training, I have to hurry home to shower and get ready for a school Council meeting.  Yes, we actually are having one on a school holiday, if you can believe it!

I did get beds changed and cleaned and books boxed up to mail out on Tuesday, so this weekend was productive. 

Spring Training Adventure

I am not sure if I have told many of my online friends this, but when I lived in the city, I had the opportunity to attend spring training of the San Francisco Giants. My good friend, whom I worked with at Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkeley, had an extra ticket for airfare to Scottsdale, Arizona and also an extra San Francisco Giants Tickets for spring training.  She knew I was a big baseball fan and had just broken up with her boyfriend so she wanted someone to go with her to cheer her up.  We sat in the 300 section of seats which was in the back, but there isn't a bad seat in the Scottsdale stadium.  We had an awesome time! Her heartbreak was my good fortune and it was so cool to watch the spring training. It was like a dream come true.  This same girlfriend and I also traveled to Chicago many many years ago and saw the Giants in Chicago.  We actually stayed in the same hotel as the Giants (like real groupies).  LOL  If you ever get a chance to attend a spring training, I highly recommend it.

Shopping Obsession

My doctor put me on a new anti anxiety medication and I swear it has turned me into a mini shopaholic.  I have gone twice to the Dollar Store in two days, hit K-mart twice in two days, bid on jewlery on Ebay and I watch QVC and Gems TV constantly.  I am always "window" shopping on TV, but have been very good about not purchasing anything except these fiber cloth thingies for 8 bucks that clean awesome.  I got those on QVC.  Oh, and I got these teardrop earrings from GemsTV, but that was about 2 weeks ago.  I was going to send them back because they cost me $38 and that is usually WAY more than I will spend on earrings, but DH told me to keep them and after I got to looking at them, I wanted them. 

It's a conspiracy.  My doctor is probably getting a cut of all the shopping sales that people buy if she puts us on this shopping drug.  LOL

Oh, off to see if I can get more free perfume samples!

Snow!!!

We actually had snow here in our little village.  Well, we are not officially a village, but we are in a pretty desolate area.  There was snow reported all over the county and we are at sea level, so it rarely happens.  I am not fond of the cold, but I do enjoy cuddling up in my warm snowman flannel robe and sipping a hot mug of coffee.  I am also watching QVC which is dangerous.  Every since the holidays and every since I watched The Devil Wears Prada (for the 15th time), I have been addicted to watching QVC, Gems TV and paying attention to what I wear and putting on my make-up everyday.  It does make me feel better when I do put some effort into looking nice.  Even DH has noticed.  Maybe he thinks I am having an affair. LOL

Well, we did it.  We went and joined the gym.  We get our trainer to train us next week.  We both are excited and have specific workout goals so we are ready.    We even shopped for new sweats and big T-shirts and are stocked  up on those.  I feel good about this and know it is way over due.  Unfortunately, we are having to cut back in other areas, but we are going to make it work.  I just have to cut out $54/month and that is what we pain for our gym membership.  We joined when they were having a special and waived the initiation fee, so we saved over $175 by joining together.  We both are pretty jazzed about it.

Tonight is camp out night and I am trying to Tivo some programs for the kiddo so I can finish my book.  I need to mail it out!!

Going Going Going

I think I have posted a similar post before that was titled this, but I was too lazy to go look.  I feel like the energizer bunny these days...going going going.....

Thursday is the big day where we go join the gym.  I am hoping that working out 3 days a week will give me more energy so I can get more done!  I need to clone myself to do all the crappy stuff and then the real me can do the fun stuff!

I have been following the Rosie vs. Donald issue lately.  I am an avid fan of The View and when Rosie came on board, it just got 10 times better.  The Donald has definitely showed his true colors.  I just wish his agent or latest girlfriend/mistress would tell him to shut his trap.  He has to know how foolish he comes across.  Anyway, it makes watching The View that much more entertaining.  Rosie can smear him without even saying anything.   She is definitely a real person and it is refreshing to see that in this fake Hollywood world that we often see.

DH bought me The Devil Wears Prada for Christmas and I must have watched this movie around 9 times.  I love it.  It actually gets me craving those Prada handbags or Marc Jacob handbags or Chanel clothes (even though I couldn't get my big butt in them).  It's a good movie if you haven't checked it out. 

Okay, I need to go read my book because I have to mail it out this week to another person.

Start of Another Week

We hit the floor running today.  After I dropped J off at school, I did some business errands, got my hair cut and then came back and worked in the office until J got home from school.  We worked on his homework and then I went to a PTA meeting tonight.  We got a lot accomplished and I feel like we are going in a really good direction.

Tomorrow is more office work and clean up in preparation for the "move".  I am going to move the office, but have to do steps A, B, C, D and E before I can do it.  Not enough hours in the day!!

Fun Day

We had a fun and relaxing day.   We did little things here and there around the house and then we went to a birthday party.  J got to run around and jump in a bouncie house and have pizza and cake.  DH and I got to visit with a few of the parents and have a bit of adult time despite the 20 kids running around like crazy.

After the party, we went shopping and picked up a few things.  We got some deli sandwiches for dinner and some breakfast stuff for tomorrow.  I also picked up a couple of magazines that I haven't bought in a long time.  We are going to watch a movie a bit later and I got a few new books from paper back swap in the mail today.

So, that's it for today.  Tomorrow we are going to go to the show and see Charlotte's Web.   

Migraine

It's been a bad day.  I got a terrible migraine last night and it has carried into the day.  I have stayed in my room in the dark with an ice pack on my eyes all day.  I see my doc about different meds for these migraines, which only occur in the winter.

Even the glare from the computer screen bothers me!
